We ventured out on our first camping trip of the season.
forecast called for 85 degrees and 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms.
We drove through some cool, but very dark thunder clouds to get to the campsite. But we saw light coming so we hung out in the truck a little, and waited for it to pass.
Gunner fell asleep in the car so Sophie and Dad did some quick 'fishing'!
Then it would start to sprinkle and we would run back in the truck to wait a few more minutes.
There are no words to express how excited she was all day to go camping. She helped unload without asking and is still waiting on her camo outfit.
Within a few minutes, we got our expected weather.
{I love the light shining in through his ears. He wasn't wanting to take pictures right then.}
Our new wall tent. Basically, heavy canvas. But we have a stove that goes inside so we can camp earlier and later in the year and be toasty warm.
That is Sophie's rock about to hit the water
All Gunner wanted to do was throw rocks and more rocks. We had to drag them away from the water.
Playing with shutter speed.
We love being out and camping and unplugged, but a few trucks and a van stowed away and made the trek with us.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the wind totally started gusting about 8:30, so we packed up and headed home. We had just hopped into sleeping bags and were ready to go to bed. We knew it was the first trip of the year, so went close knowing the weather could be an issue. Yeah for camping season!!!
