The typical Montana Spring

Well, this last week has been crazy weather week, which is also known as Spring in Montana. You can (and we did twice this week) go from getting a sunburn to frostbite all in 24 hours. Tues and Wed were bright, sunny, beautiful days (70 degrees), and Thursday( 40 degrees) we had the worst blizzard I had seen all year. So, Tues and Wednesday we play outside in the sprinklers and used sidewalk chalk and put on lots of sunblock. Thursday, we broke out the boots and gloves again, as modeled by Sophie.
Her favorite outfit is her boots and crabby gloves.

So, we built a snowman. Actually it is a baby snowman complete with bib, paci and baby hat. We used raisins for eyes, which kept falling out then Sophie wanted to keep putting raisins all over the snowman, then pull them off and eat them. It is VERY hard for little kids, especially Sophie, to do all things outside for a few days, then be restricted to inside stuff the next day. She just doesn't understand that sidewalk chalk doesn't work on snow! And mommy isn't going to blow bubbles in 40 degree weather. I am very impressed with Sophie's talking these last few weeks, and feel a bit sad that she is growing up so fast. At the same time though, it can be so fun when they say funny things and crack you up when you least expect it. This week we are expecting rain/snow showers, but hopefully after that, we will welcome the sun with open arms.

The snowman arms are actually cow horns on the bib. There are no arms to speak of on the snowman. Sorry to creep you out!
