And it ended up with us packing up camp at 1:30 in the morning. We knew that this was going to be a trial run, so it wasn't unexpected that we had to leave early. But it started out really fun and great and I think we will try it again for sure.
We tried out a new spot near Rat Lake. It is probably a 30 minute trip from home. We knew we didn't want to be to far away in case things went bad. Sophie was a great helper and was fabulous the WHOLE time. She loved camping and she was a gem. Here she is helping dad with the poles for the tent.

Here is Chris trying his hand at starting the fire. It was complete weak sauce and died out fast. I had to step in and try the tee-pee approach. Can I say raging fire?
Our camp site looking back towards canyon.
Gunner was a trooper while we set the tent up, and was great the whole time he was up. He really liked the fire and fell asleep with out trouble.
Fun little fact, our Coleman tent (purchased in Texas) is called the Montana! Who would have known that we would actually be living here one day. Sophie was being a good helper and trying to play with brother.
Sophie wanted to come play in the little stream, and we returned a few times during daylight hours.
This is what she did when I say smile for the camera. It is her ballerina pose. I can just her school pictures now. We are going to be in for some funny ones.
Cute little Sophie hands in the water.

Better a baby going crazy, than one sibling vomiting on another, then on themselves at 1:00 in the morning. Been there, done that. The memories are good though!!!
I looks like you had fun, better luck next time. We just went camping for the first time and lets just say we did not sleep much!
