Yellowstone was free this weekend, so we decided to head on down after church. Both kids fell asleep on the way down, so Chris and I were able to talk and enjoy the ride. We talked about how lucky we were to be able to live so close to the Park, and in such a beautiful part of the country. Some people travel great distances to see this part of the world, and we can visit on a whim. Unbelievable.
We went to the bear and wolf exhibit where they feed alternating bears every hour and give little demonstrations. Sophie said she wanted to go home and watch George. She did very well during the trip, and Gunner did great too. He got cranky at the end, but considering he was car bound from 2:30-9:30, he didn't do too bad. We saw one big heard of Elk, a bison and some stone sheep. It was a short trip because we knew the kids wouldn't last too long, but it was a great last minute trip.
Oh, and if you think it is weird that we are wearing jackets and sweat shirts in August, you'd be surprised. The forecast called for potential snow that evening. It was chilly, but felt so good to bundle up a little. Can't wait for FALL!!!
